The Winter 2025 anime season is upon us, which means new anime series to check out for all sorts of genres. Yes, this even includes the comedy genre, though I will say that this season isn’t the most impressive for funny shows. Even still, you should give the best comedy anime series of Winter 2025 below a chance.
Sakamoto Days
Sakamoto Days isn’t just the funniest show this season, but arguably one of the best overall as well. It tells the story of a retired hitman that runs a convenience store with his family until his past colleagues come back to finish him off. It sounds super serious, and it does have some more emotional parts, but comedy is at the center of nearly every scene like Sakamoto catching bullets with chopsticks. This is the comedy anime to watch this season.
Okitsura
I am a bit picky myself when it comes to comedy anime, so this series didn’t impress me too much, but I know many others find it hilarious. It is about a high school boy that falls for an Okinawan girl that speaks a dialect he can’t understand. The antics are over-the-top and ridiculous as you might expect, but there is a lot of romance also present for those who like that type of anime.
The Red Ranger Becomes an Adventurer in Another World
This is an isekai, sure, but one of the most inventive in a while. It is like the Red Ranger from Super Sentai or Power Rangers arrived in a fantasy world. You get the main character doing the usual transformation sequence in the middle of a fight and just generally confusing his party members. It is a bit simple in its humor, but there is something charming about that.
