The Tales series will appear in Last Cloudia once again as part of a collaboration event in the mobile game. It’ll take place on January 23, 2025, and it’ll introduce a new unit.

There’s virtually no information on the Tales collaboration in Last Cloudia right now. However, considering Tales of Graces f Remastered’s upcoming release, the new unit will likely be one of the main characters from that game. If it implements a Graces character, then it would fall between Asbel, Richard, or Sophie, who are the more iconic main characters from it.

The last time there was a Tales and Last Cloudia crossover event in the mobile game was in 2022. At the time, it featured Yuri Lowell from Tales of Vesperia. Other Tales games who appeared include Luke and Stan. In particular, Stan is on the key visual announcing this 2025 Tales crossover, so he’ll likely reappear in the story and gacha.

Tales of Graces f Remastered is the enhanced port of the original Tales of Graces f game from 2010, which was also an enhanced port of Tales of Graces from 2009. It follows Asbel Lhant, the son of a lord, who meets a mysterious amnesiac girl named Sophie in a flower meadow. After a traumatizing event in his childhood, he leaves home to become a knight, which is where the main arc of the story begins.

Last Cloudia is available on mobile devices and Windows PC via Steam. The Tales collaboration event will start from January 23, 2025.

More Honkai: Star Rail merchandise will appear at Animate Only Shop in Japan, as well as during in the Animate Fair for Winter 2025. Both campaigns will start in early February 2025. [Thanks, Genshin Goods!]

For starters, exclusive Honkai: Star Rail merchandise will appear for a limited time at the Animate Only Shops starting on February 8, 2025. It will be sold there until March 16, 2025. The Ikebukuro and Fukuoka Parco stores campaigns will appear between February 8-24, 2025. The Sendai, Nagoya, and Nihonbashi stores will have their events from March 1-16, 2025. During this time, you can take pictures at the photo spots, as well as with the Herta dolls on display.

Merchandise available at the Only Shop include:

• Chibi cat pins: 550 JPY (each)
• Final Victor Light Cone acrylic print: 1870 JPY
• Trading chibi train figures: 660 JPY (each) / 7920 JPY (box)

All of these items are ones that are available via the official miHoYo TMall store, too. However, buying them at Animate might be easier for those in Japan and tourists, considering the difficulties in importing from TMall.

Honkai: Star Rail will also appear at the Winter 2025 Animate Fair, which will run from February 8 to March 16, 2025. For every 2200 JPY you spend during this time on Honkai: Star Rail items, you’ll receive a postcard containing a serial code. You can then use the serial code to exchange for in-game items. The postcards use key visuals for Version 3.0, as well as new characters like Aglaea and Phainon.

Honkai: Star Rail is available on the PS5, Windows PC, and mobile devices.

Myethos announced a new Honkai Impact 3rd figure of Bronya that depicts her Herrscher of Truth form in the Dorm Chibi casual style. AmiAmi is currently taking orders for it worldwide, with it costing 5,280円 (~$32). It is expected to ship in August 2025.

This version of Bronya is a non-standard scale figure stands at over three and a half inches tall (90mm). She has her hair pulled back into a ponytail, just as she does for the Herrscher of Truth Battlesuit. Instead of the outfit she wears in battle for that look, she’s wearing a white shirt with blue bow and black skirt. She’s also holding a blue pillow shaped like a bunny. An additional part shaped like a pillow with her armor mark on it can be placed to help her balance.

As a reminder, the Honkai Impact 3rd version of Bronya is different from the ones we’ve met in Honkai: Star Rail. Those are alternate versions of her from various planets and realities. However, the Welt Yang in Honkai: Star Rail is the same one from Honkai Impact 3rd. 

The Honkai Impact 3rd Herrscher of Truth Bronya figure will ship in August 2025. The game is available on PCs and mobile devices now.

Square Enix shared more insights into the new features that will accompany the debut of Cid Highwind in the FFVII Ever Crisis storyline for Final Fantasy VII, and the trailers show him using a Rocket Lance and wearing astronaut gear. As a reminder, when the character worked for Shinra, he was a part of the Shinra Space Program and would have flown the No. 26 rocket.

The new Cid Rocket Lance and astronaut gear show up in two FFVII Ever Crisis trailers highlighting how the new Enfeeble debuff and Stop effect are tied to abilities on the weapon. In each case, we get a pretty clear view of the new polearm that will be a part of an upcoming weapon banner, as well as his attire that will likely be included on the same one.

First, we can see both items in the video highlighting Cid’s Cosmic Burst attack. This applies the Enfeeble ailment as he deals non-elemental magic damage to one enemy. When Enfeeble is active, other debuffs will be even stronger and weaken a foe further.

This also comes up in the Stop trailer. We get to watch Cid use the Hyper Jump attack that includes the Stop status ailment that forces a single opponent to halt for at least eight seconds after it lands. The clear look at the equipment here comes up at the 21 second mark.

Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is available for PCs and mobile devices, and Cid Highwind will join after the FFVII update on January 15, 2025.

Square Enix revealed that Dragon Quest X Offline will release for Android and iOS mobile devices on January 15, 2025 in Japan. The game will also offer The Sleeping Hero and the Guiding Ally expansion released in May 2023 as a separate purchase.

The main game costs 2,800 yen (or about $17.73) while the expansion costs 2,400 yen (~$15.19.) Both will be on sale until January 28, 2025 for 1,960 yen (~$12.41) and 1,920 yen (~$12.16) respectively.

Dragon Quest X Offline originally released in Japan and Asia on September 2022. It is based on the Dragon Quest X MMORPG released in 2012, and intended as a traditional single player experience with a customizable protagonist and set recruitable party members. Square Enix has expressed no intention of localizing the offline version of the game since its release.

Square Enix also developed a mobile version of the Dragon Quest X Online game in collaboration with NTT DoCoMo and it released via cloud streaming services on December 2013.

Dragon Quest X Offline is available in Japan for the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC via Steam, and now Android and iOS mobile devices.

Apex Toys announced pre-orders are about to open for a Zenless Zone Zero casual Ellen Joe figure, and that it is also working on figures based on Alexandrina “Rina” Sebastiane, Corin Wickes, and Von Lycaon. All of them are from the Victoria Housekeeping. Only Ellen has a release window so far, which is August 2025.

The Ellen figure already is in the painted prototype stage, as this character is about ready to go. Apex Toys announced pre-orders are about to open for her. She’s in her casual school uniform, which is the same outfit that is the subject of her first optional On Campus costume in-game. It is a 1/8 scale figure, which means it’ll probably be around eight or nine inches tall.

The other Victoria Housekeeping Zenless Zone Zero figures of Corin, Lycaon, and Rina are much earlier in development. Apex Toys only shared unpainted prototype pictures of the three of them. Those will all be in their default maid and butler combat attire. They’ll also be 1/7 scale, so they should be around nine inches or taller. That means they’d be more along the lines of the ones based on Cunning Hares members Anby, Billy, Nicole, and Nekomata.

Even more figures are also on the way. However, it will take more time before we see them. Good Smile Company is working on Zenless Zone Zero Nendoroids too. The first ones will be siblings Belle and Wise.

HoYoVerse announced yet another collaboration between the game Honkai: Star Rail and Lawson convenience stores in Japan, which will mean more merchandise. More details on it will appear in late March 2025.

This collaboration focuses on Amphoreus, which is the new world that the Astral Express and Trailblazers will visit when version 3.0 launches on January 15, 2025. After the collaboration starts, food items and merchandise featuring the new Amphoreus characters from Honkai: Star Rail will appear in participating Lawson locations. Buying them will earn you the chance to win some exclusive and limited goods. As well, participating stores will have some Honkai: Star Rail announcements and decorations.

The last time HoYoVerse and Lawson had a Honkai: Star Rail collaboration was back in April 2024. This campaign featured Acheron, Aventurine, and Sparkle, who were the first new characters we saw when the setting shifted to Penacony in version 2.0. Back then, Lawson collaboration Honkai: Star Rail merchandise included acrylic keychains, foldable tables, and Meiji snacks. The store offered prizes like clear files and magnet sheets based on what you purchased.

While it’s hard to tell the order that the Amphoreus characters will appear in, we can assume that characters HoYoVerse already released drip marketing for will be present in this collaboration. That includes: Aglaea, Tribbie, and Mydei. Other major characters like Phainon might appear on the goods as well.

Shift Up revealed the next new character to debut in Goddess of Victory: NIKKE, and it will be the Missilis Military Research (MMR) General Manager Mana. She will be the star of the Wisdom Spring event, which runs from January 16-30, 2025, as well as be a part of the new Special Recruit banner from the same time period.

Mana is going to be an Attacker type, SSR character in NIKKE and, as should be obvious from her role, is a Missilis unit that is affiliated with the MMR team. She uses an automatic rifle called Somnus in battle. She will deal Wind damage to enemies. You also will still be able to get her after this banner where she’s a featured unit will end, as she’ll join Ordinary and Social Point Recruit. In the Wisdom Spring event tied to her, you’ll need to search for her after getting an invitation to meet her to get new weapons, going through Challenge Stages to fight bosses and get materials.

As a reminder, the first new featured NIKKE to join the game was a Rapi variant.

HoYoVerse and Line announced that the Line Friends store in New York City will feature a Genshin Impact minini merchandise. pop-up event starting on January 22, 2025. The official site already updated for the event. There will be themed items, a Pop-Up Photo Zone with option to get in-game bonuses, and bonus rewards with purchases over certain amounts.

The focus of the Genshin Impact merchandise at this event is on Inazuma characters. Ayaka, Ayato, Kazuha, Kokomi, Raiden Shogun, and Yoimiya items will all be sold. You can also pick up Paimon products. The official site also noted specific items and their prices. While many of them are minini ones, there will also be some more general Line Friends items of the characters too.

Developer HoYoVerse announced a new Twitch live stream event set to coincide with the launch of Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.0. Those who take part will be able to earn a reward of 80 Stellar Jades. The event is set to begin on January 15, 2025, alongside the version update.

The rewards event offers a bounty of 80 Stellar Jades, the currency used to pull for new characters and Lightcones, for watching Twitch Drops-enabled Honkai: Star Rail live streams. The event is set to begin after the game update goes live at 9:00 UTC+8, which translates to 5pm PT/8pm ET on January 14, 2025. The rewards will then remain available until those same times on February 11, 2025.

Along with the event, Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 will involve new story missions, a new area to explore, and several new characters. One of them is a version of the Trailblazer walking the Remembrance Path.

Ahead of 3.0's launch, HoYoVerse also released a Myriad Celestia trailer for upcoming character The Herta, which sees her meeting with the Aeon Nous. Meanwhile, KFC stores in China are set to host another crossover event with Honkai: Star Rail, this time featuring the characters Jiaoqiu and Feixiao.

Honkai: Star Rail is immediately available for PC, PS5, and mobile devices while version 3.0 and the accompanying Twitch live stream event are both scheduled to launch on January 15, 2025.

Infold added two new banners to Infinity Nikki that give us a chance to get the “Sweet” outfit Pink Ribbon Waltz and “Sexy” costume Daughter of the Lake. Both are tied to the Pink Ribbon Eel event that’s been happening in the game throughout January 2025. To pull, people need to use Diamonds.

Both of these outfit have an effect tied to them to highlight the connection to Ribbon Eels, the type of eel present in some bodies of water in the game. This means if you get the full outfit from the banner, then put it on Nikki and make her walk over to water or go out in the rain, shimmering scales will appear on her arms.

Capcom and Niantic announced that Monster Hunter Now will get a Monster Hunter Wilds crossover event. This will involve items tied to the new console game in the Monster Hunter mobile title, as well as opportunities to earn free items in the latest entry. It will start on February 3, 2025, then end on March 31, 2025, and seems like it could be the first of multiple since it is called MH Wilds Collab Event I.

Not ever element of this Monster Hunter Now crossover have has been revealed yet. Capcom and Niantic shared photos of an in-game layered equipment hoodie that will be a reward for completing certain quests. It, a Guild Card background, armor and weapon Refining Parts, and the code for the console “gifts.” If someone gets that code, they will get 3 Dash Juices, 3 Dust of Lifes, 5 Well-done Steaks, 5 Energy Drinks, and 10 Mega Potions. The in-game store will also feature two packs. One is the MH Wilds Collab Pack Vol. 1 with 5 Paintballs, 10 Potions, 10 Special Carving Knives, and 10 Ultra Hunting Tickets, while the other is the exclusive Premium MH Wilds Collab Pack Vol. 1 with 5 Special Carving Knives, 10 Ultra Hunting Tickets, 20 Potions, and 11,000 Bonus Gems.

Slower gaming months like December and January are prime time for revisiting older games. Likewise, the winter season is also perfect for catching up on a backlog, due to things like weather keeping people inside and getting time off for holidays. This year, one of my winter games ended up being a return to Dredge to catch up on DLC I missed, and I found it to be one of the best possible games to play during this time of year.

As a quick refresher, Dredge is a fishing game with horror elements. You are a lone fisherman out on isolated seas. As you explore, you’ll encounter fish and phenomenon you just can’t explain. This ramps up if you dare to head out into the oceans at night. It’s all about the atmosphere and quite engrossing, even if you turn off threats to turn it into a slightly more relaxing experience.

Part of Dredge being great to play during the winter months has to do with the general nature of the game. It’s a very isolated adventure. You’re in an often quiet place. You fish and search the seas. Given how solemn December and January can be, it is soothing to soak up that ambiance while bundled up in clothing and huddling in warm rooms. Especially if you’re in an area that just experienced major snowstorms or freezing rain. All you want to do is hunker in and stay still, and it accommodates that. 

There’s also the fact that Dredge has what really feels like a piece of winter DLC. The first add-on, called The Pale Reach, sends you to the arctic. That means needed to break through the ice and investigate a new mystery. Also, there are new fish and a means of better preserving ones you’ve already caught. I only just started that storyline over the holiday break in December, and it really felt so well-suited to things being so dreary and cold outside.

Speaking of which, it honestly felt like slower months like December and January were when I could catch up with Dredge and its DLC. I didn’t get to The Iron Rig when it released back in August 2024. With the way both it and The Pale Reach are handled, I feel it’s almost like having three full “games,” rather one experience with additional adventures. Yes, the new mechanics, abilities, and fish are great for the main game, but going back to over after so much time away felt more like returning for a sequel due to the time and effort put into these. Especially with The Iron Rig’s Ironhaven Corporations and the work we can do to build up their reach in the seas and see where that supernatural story leads. 

Given the cold and solitude that accompanies winter months, I can’t help but feel like Dredge is an ideal game to return to. (Or play for the first time.) Especially given the themes behind one of its DLC, and the fact that both add-ons are substantial enough to feel like solid extra adventures in their own right. It’s one of those titles that never stops feeling appropriate for certain situations.

Dredge is available for the Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and PC, and it is in development for mobile devices.

Various Sony Stores throughout Japan are currently holding a new collaboration with the popular action-adventure game Infinity Nikki featuring Sony’s Grid Scent. The Grid Scent will allow players to experience floral and forest scents inspired by the environments of the world of the game.

The collaboration will be available until February 3, 2025 at the Ginza (Tokyo,) Sapporo, Nagoya, Osaka, and Fukuoka Tenjin Sony stores. As part of the event, the stores will also be decorated with Infinity Nikki ornaments, and will offer trials of the PS5 version of the game. The Grid Scent experience will be offered via a demo video of Infinity Nikki, and will not be available during gameplay.

The Grid Scent is a new prototype technology being tested and developed by Sony with its Tensor Valve odorant control technology. The system allows people to experience digital spatial aromatherapy while engaging in other activities, such as gaming. Infinity Nikki is an action-adventure game with dress-up elements. It is the fifth title in the series and the first open-world entry.

As a reminder, developer Infold Games recently revealed some of the changes and quality of life additions that are planned for Infinity Nikki.

As part of the upcoming version 3.0 Love and Deepspace update, Papergames and Infold will add a period tracker, of all things, to the game. Caleb will also appear as a new romance option.

The period tracker in Love and Deepspace is part of the new “Remind Me” feature. You can use this to keep track of important events and dates, as well as daily chores, in your real life. During the “When Home Calls” livestream for Version 3.0, we could see an example of how Remind Me works. The boys actually comment on whatever they’re reminding you of. That means that, yes, they do bring up the fact they’re keeping track of your period for you. Whether they find it weird or not depends on the character you have on your home screen. Whether you find it weird or romantic depends on your personality.

Caleb will also appear as a new romance option after Version 3.0. Like the other men in the game, you'll be able to pull for his card and access "With Him" features. Players will receive his 5-star and 4-star memories for free by completing Special Investigation missions or the 10-day login event.

Love and Deepspace is the first 3D otome game that uses a free-to-play gacha-monetized gameplay pattern. Aside from the dating and romance aspect, there’s also an action portion in which you fight against monsters. As of October 2024, it achieved over 14 million downloads and generated over $196 million in revenue. It’s also incredibly popular in countries like Japan.

Love and Deepspace is available on mobile devices, and version 3.0 will appear on January 22, 2025.
