Tata Trusts' education initiatives
The Tata Trusts are focused on improving education outcomes in India both, through direct implementation and partnerships with state and central governments, as well as NGOs. Their work includes broadening access to education, strengthening education systems, developing teachers and deepening learning.
Masti Ki Pathshala
Masti Ki Pathshala by Tata Steel is a residential bridge course for all-round development of street children and child labourers with the goal of making Jamshedpur a child-labour free city. Campuses are home to children who have experienced the worst kind of substance addictions, petty crime, sexual abuse and violence.
Titan Kanya
Launched in 2013, Titan Kanya is the lifestyle company's flagship CSR programme. Implemented in partnership with Project Nanhi Kali and IIMPACT, the programme is building a conducive ecosystem for the education and well-being of economically and socially disadvantaged girls. To date, it has changed the lives of 17,000 girls across India.
Ignite My Future in School
TCS’ Ignite My Future in School (IMFIS), launched in 2017 in partnership with Discovery Education, is an education programme which transforms the way students learn, by embedding computational thinking into core subjects. It was created to equip teachers with resources to advance student learning and prepare them for success in the 21st century.
Institutes of learning and the arts
It began with the establishment of the Indian Instiute of Science in 1909 — one of Jamsetji Tata's three great dreams for India. Since then, the group has built many fine institutes of higher learning and those to promote the arts, including Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Tata Institute of Social Sciences and National Centre for Performing Arts.
